The Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce and the Botetourt County Parks & Recreation are sponsoring a Community Day? as part of Military Appreciation Day at the Botetourt Sports Complex on Saturday, Sept. 29, from noon to 3 p.m. Cost is $3 per person. Enjoy an afternoon of food and girls? fast-pitch softball. Competition will include Virginia Tech, James Madison, Liberty, Radford and Longwood. Price includes a meal of choice of hamburger/BBQ/hot dog, one side item and drink. A special ceremony is scheduled at 2 p.m. to honor the military. Everyone is asked to make a donation of $5 or more to benefit the Military Family Support Center. The Botetourt Sports Complex is located in Greenfield Park off Etzler Road.
