South Africa bow down, raise your glasses and give Cape Town a huge pat on the back for the Mother City has recently been named the SECOND BEST CITY IN THE WORLD and BEST CITY IN AFRICA by the readers of US-based travel resource Cond? Nast Traveller.
Cape Town scored a whopping 84.8%, just beating the popular southern US city of Charleston. In detail Cape Town received top scores for ambience 92.3%, lodging 89.3%, culture and sites 86.7%, friendliness 86.6%, restaurants 86.0% and 69.2% for shopping. The following cities came within the top 10; Florence, Bangkok, Vancouver, Sydney, Beirut, St Miguel de Allende, Buenos Aires and Gustavia.
Within Africa, Cape Town topped the list followed by Knysna and Marrakech in Morocco.
