Want to accelerate your article writing into the fast lane? Want to write 2-3 or more articles a day, every day?

Well first you need a system.

Decide what your topics are (and notice I used the plural here, your writing system will only become high velocity if you can write on three or more topics at the same time). What areas are you knowledgeable about? You may surprise yourself on how much knowledge you have. It has been said that if you have read more than five books on a subject, you could probably write your own book on it.

Once you know your topics, start a folder on each one and carry a spiral notebook with you at all times. Use the folders to gather information on each area, and the notebook to jot down ideas as they come to you throughout the day. Right now I am going through one 7?10 inch spiral notebook every other week, and that?s too slow.

As your idea book starts to fill up, take each ?nugget,? idea, interesting piece of information or germ of an article; and start asking questions about it. Needless to say, you must write out question out in the notebook.

Fire every ?who,? ?what,? ?when,? ?where,? ?why? and ?how? question you can think of at that central idea.

When you cannot think of any more questions, give your mind a rest and come back to it a couple of hours later. When you are done, your article is 90% written.

Now answer (in writing) as many questions as your can. Don?t be too verbose, don?t stop to research until later, and only then if you must. Try to write out answers that are at least 3-4 sentences long.

Do a little polishing, editing and spell checking, and you are done.

No! Scratch that! You are never done. Now go on to your next article. Look at the material you left out. Is there a different article in that material? If so, polish, edit and spell check again and post your second article.

If not, go back to your spiral notebook and pick another central idea.

You know what to do.
